Celebrating a Win at the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards 2026

We are absolutely delighted to share that The Real Food Cafe has been named winner of the Sustainability Award at the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards (HIFADA) 2026. 

The Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards are among the most respected accolades in Scotland's food and drink sector, celebrating excellence, innovation and leadership across the region. Now marking 20 years of recognising outstanding businesses, the awards shine a spotlight on organisations that are helping shape the future of food and drink in the Highlands and Islands.

For everyone at The Real Food Cafe, this award is a proud recognition of a journey that has always been about much more than serving great food.

Since opening in Tyndrum, The Real Food Cafe has been committed to doing business responsibly. From supporting local suppliers and championing Scottish produce to reducing waste and improving operational efficiency, sustainability has been woven into the way we work every day.

Winning this award acknowledges the efforts of our entire team, whose dedication helps us balance exceptional customer experiences with a commitment to protecting the environment and supporting our local communities.

The Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards ceremony was an absolutely fantastic event showcasing  the very best this part of Scotland has to offer – the culture, the food, and the incredible people working tirelessly behind the scenes to champion Scottish provenance, protect heritage, support rural communities and drive innovation. 

We loved being part of it and meeting many new food producers some of whom we're now buzzing with ideas on how we can bring some of their products into what we do!

The ceremony was hosted by the Hebridean Baker, we ate stunning dishes from the team at the Kingsmills Hotel team, and yes… the whisky was definitely flowing. Thanks to The Macallan and all the other sponsors!
