Pick n Chips: Meet Up- Clean Up - Eat Up - 2023 Litterpicking Events Announced

We are excited to announce the launch of our 2023 programme of community litterpicking events, Pick n' Chips: Meet Up - Clean Up - Eat Up!

A series of six litterpicks in the Tyndrum area over the course of 6 months starting on Sunday May 21 through to Sunday Oct 29. 

Our litter-picking events are inclusive, and everyone is welcome to join. After picking we get together to share a delicious meal (fish & chips or equivalent) as a reward.

Celebrating Adulthood - The Cafe Is 18!

Eighteen years ago, a dream of opening a cafe in the site of a former derelict Little Chef in Tyndrum came true and The Real Food Cafe opened its door for the first time. It's been a hell of a journey, with some tremendous ups and downs but we're still here 18 years on, doing well, mostly thanks to our world-class team.

New EV Charging Era at The Real Food Cafe

The Real Food Cafe has had an electric vehicle charger since 2018 but it was time for an upgrade. 

We wanted to make sure that the customer experience and reliability of the facility are improved and remain consistent. 

We're pleased to announce that our new FOR:EV charging station is fully operational fulfilling our EV charging service at the Café.

The Real Food Cafe Wins The National Fish & Chip Awards Field to Frier Category

It's official, our chips are the best in the country. 

On Tuesday 28th February our Founder and Director, Sarah Heward, travelled to London to attend the 2023 National Fish & Chip Awards Ceremony held by the Federation of Fish Friers. We were the only Scottish business among the three finalists in the Field to Frier category. On the day everyone in the Cafe was in suspense, waiting for the result to be announced and then it happened, we won!
