The Real Food Cafe Is a Quality Accredited Champion

We are delighted to announce that The Real Food Cafe in Tyndrum, has once again secured its place among the UK’s top fish and chip shops by achieving the prestigious NFFF Quality Accreditation.

The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF)—the trade body representing the nation’s fish and chip shops—operates the accreditation scheme as part of its commitment to raising standards and enhancing the profile of the fish and chip industry.

The scheme recognises shops that deliver high-quality food, excellent hygiene standards, and a proven level of skills and competence among their frying teams. To qualify, each business undergoes a detailed virtual inspection carried out by an NFFF-approved assessor. The assessment covers shop presentation, hygiene and cleanliness, staff training, equipment standards, frying and sales skills, and—most importantly—the quality of the cooked product.

Speaking about the achievement, The Real Food Cafe said: “We are delighted to have earned our place in the scheme once again. Being recognised as one of the UK’s top fish and chip shops by the NFFF is a tremendous honour. This award is a credit to our hardworking staff, and I would like to offer my sincere thanks for their continued efforts in maintaining our excellent reputation.

I would also like to thank all our customers, both new and longstanding, for their support and encouragement. Their loyalty motivates us to maintain the high standards that have now been recognised with this accreditation.

This accreditation sets a benchmark for quality within the industry. It assures consumers that shops displaying the award have demonstrated excellence and encourages more outlets to elevate their standards.

NFFF President Andrew Crook explained: “The NFFF Quality Accreditation scheme is extremely comprehensive. Food safety is a key area we examine, alongside other essential aspects of a business—from preparation and cooking equipment to paperwork management and fish traceability.

The Real Food Cafe clearly takes pride in sourcing its fish and potatoes responsibly. Achieving the NFFF Quality Accreditation provides reassurance to customers that they are being served expertly cooked food made with high-quality ingredients.”

Each Quality Accreditation is valid for one year and must be renewed through continued compliance with NFFF standards, validated by officials and appointed assessors. The Real Food Cafe has clearly demonstrated its commitment to consistently serving some of the UK’s finest fish and chips.
