The Real Food Cafe Is In The Top 5 Finalists in The National Fish & Chips Awards Field To Frier Category
Five fish and chip shops from around the UK, have today been announced as finalists in the ‘Field to Frier’ category, in the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023. And, drumroll, The Real Food Cafe is in the Top 5 businesses running for the award!
The finalists have been selected from ten longlisted businesses which were announced earlier this month. We wrote about the fantastic recognition of being in the Top 10 businesses in the Field to Frier category here and we are thrilled to be in the Top 5.
The National Fish and Chip Awards have been celebrating the best in the industry for over thirty years, and the Field to Frier category recognises businesses for their excellence in potato knowledge, care and chip preparation.
The top five business shortlisted are:
- The Real Food Cafe, Tyndrum
- Pier Point Fish & Chips, Torquay
- Seafare Guildford, Guildford
- Fish Kitchen 1854, Maesycwmmer
- Fiddlers Elbow Fish & Chips, Leintwardine
The next step for all of the finalists is preparing a portion of fish & chips in front of a panel of judges.
The Field to Frier category is sponsored by leading potato supplier, Isle of Ely Produce and the awards are hosted by The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), on the 28th of February 2023 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. Although the guest list is mainly industry-focused, tickets are open to the general public and discounted accommodation is available with ticket sales.
The National Fish and Chip Awards is the largest UK-wide event dedicated to raising standards across the industry whilst supporting fish and chip related businesses. For more than 30 years, the awards have celebrated the nation's favourite dish, while championing the eclectic eateries that hold up this loved British tradition.
The National Federation of Fish Friers will host the inaugural awards in February 2023.
