The Real Food Cafe is in the Top 3 UK chip shops running for the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023 ‘Field to Frier’ award.
Three fish and chip shops from around the UK, have today been announced as finalists for the ‘Field to Frier’ category, in the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.
We are the only Scottish chip shop to get into the final 3 which means we can proudly say that our chips are the best in Scotland.
The 3 chippies to get into the final were selected after each of the businesses from The Top 5 shortlist presented their chip preparation in front of a panel of judges.
The National Fish and Chip Awards have been celebrating the best in the industry for over thirty years, and the Field to Frier category recognizes businesses for their excellence in potato knowledge, care, and chip preparation.
We are very proud of our achievement which demonstrates our care & knowledge in chip preparation. Our great supplier relationships and communication are also key components of our success and we are delighted to credit JM Breckenridge for their consistent supply of the best-quality potatoes all year round.
Andrew Crook, President at the NFFF, said “This category is to highlight the amount of knowledge, care and attention that goes into turning what many see as the humble potato, into the perfect chip. We had many strong entries this year and it’s been a difficult job whittling them down to the final three, but the shortlisted nominees are well deserving of this accolade. There’s so much more to fish and chips than the end-product and it’s great to see these businesses going above and beyond to achieve this. Bring on the awards!”
The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony next year. The awards ceremony, hosted by The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), will take place on the 28th of February 2023 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.
