Gluten Free Fortnight, returns for its fourth year from 14 to 29 October 2023 bringing an extra portion of joy to our customers living with Coeliac disease and gluten sensitivities and demonstrating the benefits of safe gluten free catering to other hospitality venues.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet our cheese suppliers, the passionate cheesemakers, Dorothy and Robert, from Ballochmyle Fine Cheese in Ayrshire, who came to visit us the other day.

We're excited to announce that we're running a Devil of the Highlands charity raffle to celebrate the 19th season of the Devil o' the Highlands Footrace on 12th August. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Toilet Twinning.

The popular Killin Highland Games return on Wednesday 2 August 2023 and once again, The Real Food Cafe is delighted to sponsor the Hill Race discipline of the games. Competitors can look forward to snacks and meal vouchers donated by the Cafe and thoughtful prizes including two awards dedicated to the late Herbie McLean, a dedicated hill runner and a cherished member of the community. 

If you're after a quick delicious snack, a cup of coffee or a sweet treat, we'll let you in on a little secret. You can skip the Real Food Cafe queues if you head over to our Grab & Go Takeaway Kiosk where we serve all Scottish Highlands road trip snacking essentials. There's something for everyone, even for your dog. 

The kiosk is open Friday to Sunday between 8am and 4pm. 

The Real Food Cafe won a fabulous trip to Alesund, Norway as a reward for our remarkable achievement as winners of the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) Field to Frier Category at the prestigious Fish & Chip Awards 2023. Vladislava, Andrei and Angel recently celebrated their 5-year anniversaries with The Real Food Cafe. This milestone is a testament to their commitment, passion for their work and appetite for continuous development. We couldn't be prouder of them.

The Real Food Cafe is located just off the West Highland Way which means we get to meet & feed many outdoor lovers and participants of various races including the epic endurance West Highland Way Race. We believe that fish & chips is the best recovery food and that's why we're running a special deal for all finishers.

Our top team members attended the National Federation of Fish Friers' 'University of Fish & Chips' at the Federation's headquarters in Leeds to learn new skills.

The entries for the 2024 edition of the National Fish & Chip Awards by the National Federation of Fish Friers are open. The Real Food Cafe founder & director, Sarah, was invited by the Federation and drove 648 mile round trip just to to be at the launch.

On 27th May 2023 at 7am a group of 62 endurance bikepackers got together to refuel before their epic adventure, the Highland Trail 550. Highland Trail 550 is the ultimate annual self-supported and self-timed Individual Time Trial bikepacking race and The Real Food Cafe loves to be its spiritual home.
