The entries for the 2024 edition of the National Fish & Chip Awards by the National Federation of Fish Friers are open. The Real Food Cafe founder & director, Sarah, was invited by the Federation and drove 648 mile round trip just to to be at the launch.

On 27th May 2023 at 7am a group of 62 endurance bikepackers got together to refuel before their epic adventure, the Highland Trail 550. Highland Trail 550 is the ultimate annual self-supported and self-timed Individual Time Trial bikepacking race and The Real Food Cafe loves to be its spiritual home. 

The Tyndrum Infrastructure Group (TIG) has today launched its campaign, ‘Spend a Penny Scotland’ to raise awareness, and funds to build a Changing Places Toilet  facility in Tyndrum. Sign our petition to help us unlock public funds, pledge your support and share our campaign far and wide.

We are excited to announce the launch of our 2023 programme of community litterpicking events, Pick n' Chips: Meet Up - Clean Up - Eat Up!

A series of six litterpicks in the Tyndrum area over the course of 6 months starting on Sunday May 21 through to Sunday Oct 29. 

Our litter-picking events are inclusive, and everyone is welcome to join. After picking we get together to share a delicious meal (fish & chips or equivalent) as a reward.

Our Stirling & Forth Valley Gluten Free Fortnight campaign has been shortlisted for the Best Marketing Campaign award at the 2023 Cateys Awards, a prestigious ceremony that recognises excellence in the hospitality industry.

The campaign featuring businesses with safe gluten free menus, specials & events is set to return from October 14th to 29th 2023.

Eighteen years ago, a dream of opening a cafe in the site of a former derelict Little Chef in Tyndrum came true and The Real Food Cafe opened its door for the first time. It's been a hell of a journey, with some tremendous ups and downs but we're still here 18 years on, doing well, mostly thanks to our world-class team.

You've heard it first, The Real Food Cafe's menu has introduced new tasty additions! 

Don't worry, all our staples and your favourites like our famous award-winning fish & chips and Scottish breakfast are still on the menu and are here to stay. We've simply added a few newbies to the mix to keep things fresh and exciting.

The Real Food Cafe has had an electric vehicle charger since 2018 but it was time for an upgrade. 

We wanted to make sure that the customer experience and reliability of the facility are improved and remain consistent. 

We're pleased to announce that our new FOR:EV charging station is fully operational fulfilling our EV charging service at the Café. 

It's official, our chips are the best in the country. 

On Tuesday 28th February our Founder and Director, Sarah Heward, travelled to London to attend the 2023 National Fish & Chip Awards Ceremony held by the Federation of Fish Friers. We were the only Scottish business among the three finalists in the Field to Frier category. On the day everyone in the Cafe was in suspense, waiting for the result to be announced and then it happened, we won!
